Gratitude to the Men of Dragon's March

Our House arrived to skies that clouded o'er
And we made haste to raise our humble camp,
But rain descended, touched the forest floor,
And soon, our spirits, shoes, and skins were damp.

A cruel hand had Fortune to us played;
The heavens stormed and heavy thunder rolled.
But noble men arose, and gave us aid,
And helped us build our shelter from the cold.

They held the ropes and stakes that made a frame-
From fabric thick and wooden poles, a door.
Pray see the barren land, 'tis not the same:
A pavilion stood where 'twas not before.

To all the men in Dragon March's ranks:
We of House Aredian give our thanks.

Let's have some Dry wit for a change.

*This was composed at Artemesian Games, in Vernal, Utah. I think I must like sonnets or something.
